How to set up your AWS in 10 minutes
Amazon AWS Setup
Step 1 – Open your browser and search for “aws.amazon” on the search box. Click on the 2nd link “Amazon Web Services (AWS)” as shown below.
Step 2 – Click on the “create an AWS account” option present at the top-right most corner of the amazon aws page as shown below.
Step 3 – A new page will open up where you have to type your email Id and a new password for your aws account.
Step 4 – A contact information page will open up, fill in your details and click on “create account and continue” at the bottom.
Step 5 – Login with your email Id and password, click on next to move on to the next step –
Step 6 – Once logged in, payment information page will open up on your screen. Make your payment with the help of either Master card or Visa. Only 2 rupees will be deducted from your bank account.
Step 7 – After entering your payment details, click on “secure submit” button present at the bottom of the page.
Step 8 – You will be redirected to a new page where you have to enter the OTP sent to the mobile number linked with your bank.
Step 9 – Once you submit the OTP, your payment will be accepted and you will be redirected to a new page where you have to enter your mobile number that you want to link with the aws account.
Step 10 – After clicking on contact me, an OTP will be sent to your mobile number that you registered in the previous step, enter the OTP and click on continue.
Step 11 – After clicking on continue you will be redirected to a new page where you have to select desired plan (Only Basic plan of 1GB RAM is free).
Step 12 – After clicking on the “Free” option, you will be redirected to the page shown in our video, click on the option “services” present at the top left corner of the screen.
Step 13 – Select EC2 option from the drop-down menu as shown in video.
Step 14 - A new page will show up saying, it will take 24 hours to activate the account.
Step 15 – Although it says 24 hours, the account will get activated within 4-5 hours only. So after 4 hours you can check your account by repeating step 13 and step 14. Once activated your account will show the following page. Click on the blue button named “Launch Instance”.
Step 16 – A new page will open up with a list of options. Choose the option “Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Base” as shown in video.
Step 17 – A new page will open up with a new list of options. Select the option where the “memory” is of 4GB as shown below. Then click on “Next: Configure Instance Details” present at the bottom right corner of the page.
Step 18 – A new page will open up, click on “Next: Add storage” present at the bottom right corner of the page.
Step 19 – A new page will open up, click on “Next: Add tags” present at the bottom right corner of the page.
Step 20 – A new page will open up, click on “Next: Configure Security group” present at the bottom right corner of the page.
Step 21 – A new page will open up. Click on “review and launch” button present at the bottom right side of the page.
Step 22 – A new page will open up, click on “Launch” button present at the bottom right corner on the page.
Step 23 – A new dialog box will open up, Click on choose an existing key pair” option and select “Create a new key pair”.
Step 24 – After this, type any name in the “Key pair name” option present just below as shown in video. After this, click on “Download Key Pair” button as shown.
Step 25 – A file with the same name that you gave will be downloaded as shown below. The dialog box will be removed as shown below. Click on services present on the top left corner and select EC2 as shown in video.
Step 26 – A new page will open up. Now you can see in the red rectangular box shown below, 1 Instance is running. Our setup is ready now. Click on “1 Running Instances”.
Step 27 – A new page opens up, wait for 10 mins for the setup to be running. After 10 mins click on “Connect” button present at the top left corner.
Step 28 – A new pop up box will open up, click on “Get password” button as shown in video.
Step 29 – Now click on “Choose file” button. A new dialog box will up. Go to Downloads and select the file that was downloaded recently.
Step 30 – Once you click on “Decrypt password”, a new popup will open up. The password for your account will be shown. Copy the password in a text file for later usage.
Step 31 – Click on close button and then go to the search bar of your computer and search for “Remote desktop Connection” and click on “Remote Desktop Connection”.
Step 32 – A new pop up box will open up. Enter the Ipv4 address present on the amazon aws site as shown in green box below. Then click on “Connect” button.
Step 33 – A new dialog box will open up, fill in the details as shown below. The username will be “administrator” for all users. Use the password that you saved in the text file. Also click on “remember my credentials” for hassle-free login next time. Click on “Ok”.
Step 34 – A new pop up box will open up, select the checkbox, “Don’t ask me again” Then click on “Yes” button.
You can start using the setup.
Step 35 – To stop the setup, close the virtual setup and then click on “Actions” button, select “instance state”, then click on “stop”.
Step 36 – A new pop up box will open up, click on “Yes, stop” button as shown below.
